Meet Priya, the blogger behind the awesome blog Once Upon A Tea Time. As much as I love her blog, I admire her for her zest for 'everything beautiful' as she calls it. A biologist by profession, she has gone back to her grad school to earn a new degree.
Her blog regularly features artisans from all over the world. This helps the readers in knowing about various trends and colors and matchings all the world over but also helps the artisans in getting a wider audience and customer base. Have a look at some of the posts - mirror, mirror on thw wall, The Good life, Cuixmala, loving your home
I am delighted to have an opportunity to interact with Priya. She graciously accepted my invite to get featured here. Read on to know more about her.
Q. Hi Priya, a very warm welcome to you from Womanatics. Tell me something about yourself. I know you are studying in US right now. What is your degree about?
I am from India but I have lived in the US for the last 15 years. I live in California with my husband and two sons. I am a research biologist by training and I have gone back to grad school to get another degree in disease research. A completely different world from blogging!
Q. How did you think about blogging and how has the journey been so far?
I have been blogging for more than 3 years now. It started out as personal log but now showcases all that is beautiful and creative with occasional postcards about my life. I love blogging and I would blog even if the only people reading it were my Mom and my sister (which is how I started out)! Like many people, chai time is very special to me and I associate it good company, a great book or a magazine: everything lovely and that inspired the name Once Upon A Tea Time.
Q. Tell me about your ‘support the artisan’ program.
My Support the Artisans program is a small effort to bring attention to/publicize traditional and not-so-traditional arts and crafts by providing an online space for organizations that work with these artisans, so that they can reach more people. It’s my way of giving back to these communities.
Q. I saw your home on OUATT and I loved it. But I would like to know what your favorite home is about. How do you visualize it?
Thank you! I think I am living in my favorite home now! Any space that is created with passion and showcases the owner’s personality is my idea of a home. Something that is uniquely you is something very special.
Q. What is one home designing tip you would give to people who are new to designing – apart from decorating walls ;) ?
I am not a designer or an interior decorator and for me, surrounding yourself with your favorite things is the most important part of a home. To get started, identify what you like in rooms featured in books, magazine and blogs and go from there. And avoid clutter!
Q. Thanks a lot Priya for sparing your valuable time. Anything you would like to say to my fellow readers?
Thanks for asking me! My best wishes to your readers.
