25 Creative And Unique Gift Ideas For Husband’s Birthday That You and He Will Love

January 22, 2016 by Surabhi 7 Comments

In his masterpiece ‘Five Love Languages’, Dr. Gary Chapman described the five kinds of love languages a person can have. Among these five, one love language is gifts.

There are people who communicate with gifts. For them, gifts speak louder than words. And this especially holds true for people who find it hard to express their feelings.

Gifts can say things that you otherwise find difficult to say. If you want to show your feelings of affection and care to your husband or would be, what makes a better gift than a hand knitted sweater? Like the one Aarti gave to Deepak in the movie Sirf Tum?

We all love gifts. Just that our taste differs and some like gifts more and some less but everyone is pleased with the surprise package that they receive from their loved ones.

Here are 25 unique gift ideas for your man. Gift him these on your special days like anniversary, birthdays, on your first meeting after a long time or on any random day when you feel you must express your love to him.

1. Open When Letters – This is the best gift any person can receive. Man or woman alike. You can create your own list of occasions when the letters are to be opened. For example, open when you are angry with me, open when you miss me, open when you reach home or open when you board the plane. Anybody would just love these. This idea works best when you are in a long distance relationship or when one of you travels frequently.

2. Photo Calendar – Want him to think of you all the time? Gift him a personalized desk calendar with all your photos of togetherness for each month.

For example:  Zoomin.com, vista print, archies online etc make customised desktop calendars.
3. Audio/Video Recording – Does he always insist on you saying it to him? Well, record a loving message for him in your sweet voice and gift it to him in a CD or DVD.

4. Audio/Video Recording With Friends – He always seeks company of his friends on special occasions but you want some time alone with him? I have got a solution. Get a video recording of his friends wishing him a happy birthday. Go out on a date with him and when he begins to miss his friends, play the video. He will be glad to see them and you will be happy to have him all to yourself.

5. Plant A Tree – Is he fond of gardening? Gift him a plant.  Take inspiration from Plant A Tree India.

6. Perfume – Buy a lovely perfume. Spray few drops on his shirt when he is about to get ready for the office. Give him a peck just when he is leaving. He will love the perfume even more. You can order a variety of perfumes from here. My personal favorite is Paco Robane.

7. Message On Marble – This one works pretty much like the desk calendar. Pick a white coloured, smooth marble. If you can get it in heart-shaped, nothing like it. Else, any shape will do. Write a sweet message to him on the marble with a marker. He will happily use it as a paperweight. You can order such stones from here.

8. Surprise Flowers – Get flowers delivered to him in his office.

9. Gadget For Hobby – I know most men love gadgets. Do not gift him an iPhone or an iPad! He will stick glued to them if you do. Instead, gift him something that he can use or pursue as a hobby. Maybe a guitar or a camera lens if he enjoys photography. You can also gift him a healthy gadget like a watch that counts your steps if he is a fitness freak.

You can buy camera lenses here.

10. Beard Trimmer – I gifted this to my husband because he is very lazy and he likes to keep himself clean shaved. What works best for him? A beard trimmer! Panasonic, Philips are all good brands and offer affordable trimmers.

You can buy beard trimmers from here.

11. A Book – No, I am not talking about Playboy magazine. But there are a plethora of books out there that will make an awesome gift for him. If he reads books, you know what he likes to read. If he doesn’t read books, then you can pick up a light read. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, Tuesdays With Morrie do well in self-help, non-fiction section. For fiction, you can pick ‘Love Story’ or ‘Amish Tripathi series’ or maybe any book by John Green.

Buy these books from here.

12. Bookshelf – If he is an ardent book reader and you don’t want to gift him a book yet again, get him a fancy bookshelf. This is a gift that will act as a gift to your own self!! Study the dimensions of your house and get a bookshelf accordingly. Buy a good bookshelf here.

13. Post A Letter To His Office Address – You wrote a letter to him last year and kept it in his wallet? Okay, then try mailing him one this year on his office address!

14. Scientific Appliance – Married to a scientist? Or your boyfriend is doing his PhD? Gift him a Galileo thermometer or anything like that which can satiate his quest for science a bit. Buy one here.

15. Get Sporty – A subscription to a local sports club or a high-tech gym makes for an apt gift for your sporty husband.

16. Get Adventurous – Find out the adventure club in your city and gift him a helicopter ride or a scuba diving experience. Not available in your city? Try ice skating! If this also doesn’t work, a ticket (including all rides) to a theme park works best.

17. Solo Trip – If he is any bit interested in exploring new places, then let him go out on his own. Book a solo trip for him. He will love you even more and you will thank yourself later. Chances are he will miss you terribly.

18. Donate Money – Sponsor a child for education on his name. You can pick a child with the same name as his or someone who shares his date of birth with him or just pick a child and sponsor his/her studies or donate money on his name to charity.

19. Cook A Meal – If he is a foodie, nothing will make him happier than a delicious, larger than life meal course. Take help from this post.

20. Impress Him With Your Coding – Is he an impressive coder? And you can code too! Wow. Code a love message in the form of a program. Or create an online form and ask him to fill it and then give him a photo of yours kissing him as a gift. Or create an online survey and rate him the best husband as a result of the survey.

21. Knit A Sweater – Nothing will make him realize your affection for him than a sweater that you knitted only for him. Or a muffler or a cap! You can also stitch/knit his name in his handkerchiefs and gift to him. My mom knits sweaters and jackets for my dad every year. In the37 years of their marriage, my dad only wears sweaters made by my mom!

22. Book A Hotel For One Night – Nothing pleases a man more than a good time with his woman. If you live with in-laws or have difficulty finding some time alone, book a hotel or a resort for one night.

23. Get Naughty – Now that you are in a lovely place and have a room of your own, get naughty with him. Even if you are in your own home, play some soft music, light aromatic candles and have fun with him. He will get up all cheered up for his birthday the next morning.

24. Give Him A Massage – Pick any aromatic oil and give him a soothing head massage. Or a body massage. Trust me, he will kiss your hands later. You can use good body massager available in the market. Takes cues from here.
25. Give Him Peace – We women have a habit of nagging. Ask any man and he has this complaint with his wife. So, the best gift for your husband would be if you give up nagging, even for a day! Stay peaceful. Do not fret. The cake is not yet delivered, do not scream. Kids aren’t letting you decorate, stay calm. Whatever it is, stay peaceful and gift him peace.

I forgot to add one thing .It is woman only which takes initiative to make her married life happy .I think more than 75 % females takes these measures and unfortunately not even 2 % male attempts to do so .I could be wrong but it is my observation .
