Hi Everyone, it feels so good to be back to Womanatics. It is one place where I share my stories and anecdotes with you freely and without any notions and judgements. I feel a sort of soul connection with my readers and that gives me the courage and joy of baring my heart here.
My last personal post was in early August – Arranged Marriage Decoded – and then I went away from Womanatics. It was a long hiatus, indeed. But I feel I owe you guys an explanation so here I am with my story of life in the last three months.
First, the most important part of my life – Parakh. She is my younger daughter and such a cute little girl who has filled our lives again with pure joy and happiness. She keeps me on my toes most of the times but I thoroughly enjoy her company except on the few days when she gets way too cranky for me to handle.
Second, I have moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts with my family. We will be here for 2 years. We landed in Cambridge in mid-August and will leave in mid-2019. Sanjay is here for his masters at MIT and I am on the dependent visa. So settling down in a new place with two kids and all the household responsibilities on myself took few months. I am still in transition but much of it has been taken care of. And I am happy to be here.
Third, I am figuring out what to do with my career and ambitions. I know I have always been doing that (you see, I am an Aries and I can’t hold myself onto any one thing for long) but since I am here in the US, I wish to make the best use of my time here, personally and professionally.
Finally, with all of the above in my small hands I am mostly crazily busy with every day life. Not that I am complaining but honestly, it gets a little too much at times.
However, I have realized that I simply can’t leave Womanatics. You guys are like a family to me – MY OWN VIRTUAL FAMILY. A part of my heart resides with all of you. So, if you are reading this, please comment on the post and send some love my way.
I do not have anything specific to say as of now so sharing a glimpse of my life here in Cambridge. My day begins at 7 am when I wake Pahal up for her school. Then Sanjay leaves for his college. In the meantime I prepare breakfast and talk to my folks back in India. He leaves and I get on to the laptop for some reading. Also, finish some minor chores like cleaning and dusting. Then Parakh wakes up and suddenly it is evening. Ha ha.
The best part of the day is when I cook something and Sanjay says (in his usual subtle style), ‘Umm.. this is nice. I like it.’
Best part is when Pahal comes all excited from the school and screams, ‘mumma.. look this is what I did. I didn’t know about it back in India.’
Best part is when Sanjay babysits Parakh and Pahal and I go out and about in Boston for almost whole day.
Best part is when Sanjay and I take a stroll near the Charles river which is just 2 mins away from my house.
But the bestest best part? When I see Sanjay working hard to realize his dream – to get a degree of his choice from the institute of his choice – the legendary MIT.
I’d love to hear from all of you. Please, please, please comment or send in emails. I am for you as much as you guys are for me.
